In Sudan, women journalists, activists, and human rights defenders are subjected to coordinated digital attacks carried out by individuals, armed groups, and political entities seeking to silence their voices, intimidate them, and push them out of public participation.
With the absence of protective laws and weak enforcement of justice, women become even more vulnerable to exploitation and targeted abuse.
At WCO, we reaffirm our full commitment to combating all forms of digital violence and gender-based online targeting. We are dedicated to protecting women and girls in Sudan, ensuring safe spaces for their expression and participation, and defending their rights in a country torn by war, yet sustained by the unbreakable resilience of its women. We will continue our efforts in awareness, monitoring, support, and advocacy until all forms of violence against women within Sudan and across all digital spaces come to an end.
